Crushed Ice Rectangle

The crushed ice cut is commonly used on colored diamonds to enhance and deepen their color. This effect is achieved through a "hall of mirrors" phenomenon within the stone, created by the diamond's exceptionally high refractive index (RI), combined with shallow pavilion angles and a large table facet. Other materials with similarly high RIs can also support this cut style, as their optical properties allow for shallow pavilion angles without causing windowing, making them suitable for the crushed ice effect.
