Djeva 78 green corundum represents an exceptionally refined example of flame fusion corundum produced for the gem trade. While Djeva was in operation, this material cost many times more than other flame fusion corundum colors, reflecting the complexity of producing a stable green hue. The coloration comes from cobalt, a chromophore known for shifting valence states depending on atmospheric conditions during growth. Achieving this level of green saturation with the flame fusion process required a specialized furnace setup distinct from standard production methods, and no manufacturer has created a comparable material since Djeva closed.
